Let's Try Climbing-First step in vertical
First steps in vertical This is another sport particularly suited for students from 8 years of age. Indeed, this sport is not so popular as others, but has considerable potentiality for learning technical manoeuvres and face progressive difficulties first horizontally and then vertically. The free climbing wall is just behind our Base facing the river in a beautiful green area where people can start this sport in a natural contest with high standard of safety. The activity has a duration of 2h30/3h depending on the number of participants that can be a maximum of 20/30 people at a time. Each participant will have to draw shoes with anti-slip soles and comfortable clothing. The "climbing" lesson is divided into several progressive steps so that participants can overcome difficulties gradually.

BRIEFING: is carried out in the green area adjacent our Base just near the river. This is an aggregation time where Climbing Instructor describes the activity all participants developing the following subjects: - behavioural rules that the group needs to observe during the activity - description of technical equipment - description of the activity.
First Vertical steps The work is divided into two phases, the first is an exploratory phase in which participants face a path of balance and skill in overcoming various difficulties Horizontal: walking on logs swinging up and down, walking on a beam, grab a rope and swing to reach a specific point along a circuit in different situation. In this way even those subjects very hesitant or afraid of heights can be stimulate to face step by step their psychological barriers The second phase deepens what already done during the horizontally section and continues on the climbing artificial wall. Initially, people become more familiar with the various types of holds positioned on the panels and then they start moving vertically properly insured and equipped with harness completing the objective of reaching" the summit ".
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT
It is explained to all participants the importance of using ropes, harness and helmet in accordance with the approved guidelines for ensuring the complete safety of the participants.
Although carried out on artificial rock-equipped panels, this activity offers many possibilities to develop multiple teaching objectives because the environment is completely natural with the river flowing nearby and the slopes of the mountain clearly visible: the mountain environment, morphology, karst phenomena, flora and fauna protection and environmental education, ecology, geography, history (Middle Ages, First and Second World War up to current times)
Other important goals are also: social development, strengthening self-esteem and esteem for others, recognition and respect of roles.
